Messi's top five accomplishments

In this post I will be talking about accomplishments that Messi has achieved.Messi has accomplished a countless number of things so now we have to determine what accomplishments are the to most noteworthy.  I've analyzed what he's done and found what I think his five greatest accomplishments are.

5 - Messi joins F.C Barcelona
Something that really shaped Messi and was a huge accomplishment for him at the young age of thirteen was when he was recruited by the famous soccer team F.C Barcelona.  He was signed in September 17 2000.  F.C.B signed him because they scouted him at a young age and they thought he'd be a great aspect to their football program.  Messi excepted the deal because F.C.B offers to pay for the growth hormones that he needed and he was exited to join such a great football club.  Stated in givemefootball.com "it didn't take long for Barca's scouts to make up their minds and Messi and son were soon arranged accommodation - Barca as their new home".  If you'd like to read more you can go here at http://www.givemefootball.com/european-news/leo-messi-footballs-greatest-signing-.

4 - Messi signs with EA sports
For the last couple of years Messi has been the star for the Pro Evolution soccer franchise.  P.E.S is a big soccer franchise but not as big and famous as the EA sports FIFA franchise.  Because of how good of a franchise EA sports is, when Messi was offered to be the face of FIFA in November 24 2011, he signed with them.  EA sports signed Messi because they classify him as the best footballer ever so it's nice to have someone working with them with that capability and celebrity status.  Matt Bilbey the GM of the football department for EA sports states on www.eurogamer.net "With Messi on our team we have the worlds best and most exiting player to help EA sports maintain its global leadership in the years ahead" read more about this at http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-11-24-ea-sports-signs-messi-as-global-face-of-fifa.

3 - Messi wins his second golden boot
As the great player that Messi is, he's obviously had a lot of awards. One award that Messi has been given twice is the golden boot.  Messi got this award last year in 2011 for how well he played and now on October 22 2012 he was rewarded his second one for scoring the most goals in Europe's domestic leagues last Sunday.  Messi praises his teammates for helping him get his awards.  As he states from thenews.com "It is a prize for scoring goals, but without my teammates I couldn't have scored them".  For more information go to http://www.thenews.com.pk/article-73418-Messi-wins-second-Golden-Boot-award

2 - Messi scores a record of most goals in a calendar year
Fourth years ago in 1972 Gerd Muller set a world class soccer record with scoring eighty five goals in one calendar year.  This calendar year for 2012 Messi beat that record.  December 1 2012 Messi scored eighty sixth goal of the year to beat the record.  Messi had an outstanding year for goal scoring so it's great hat he could achieve this record.  This is such a big accomplishment for Messi because it shows how outstanding of a player he is and how he praises his teammates for it, as he states here newsday.com "The record is nice, but the important thing is that the win keeps us on the path we want to continue on".  If you'd like to read more than go to http://www.newsday.com/sports/soccer/lionel-messi-breaks-40-year-record-with-86th-goal-of-2012-1.4311303

1 - Messi wins 3 Ballon D'or trophies
With all of Messi's accomplishments I think that there is one that stands out from the others, and that would be his three Ballon D'or trophies.  The Ballon D'or award is a trophy that is given out to the best footballer in spain.  Messi didn't just get this trophy once.  He got it in 2009, 20010, and 2011, and is the favor for getting it again for the 2012 year.  When Messi praises his teammates from Spain for this, Jerome Valcke a FIFA security officer states "This shows how strong football is in Spain, not only in the clubs but in the national team" if you'd like to read more then go here at http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/world/story/lionel-messi-cristiano-ronaldo-andres-iniesta-ballon-dor-three-man-shortlist-112912

Whether its be owing the face of EA sports FIFA, getting awards, breaking records, or joining FCB, Messi made a lot of accomplishments throughout his life even though he's at the young age of twenty five.  Messi has some great accomplishments but getting three Bollan D'or trophies is probably his best accomplishment of all.

Messi vs Ronaldo

With Messi supposedly being the best footballer in the world, there's always some sort of competition.  Cristiano Ronaldo is in the running for being number one and lots of people think that he is, which would mean that he's even better than Messi.  Lots of controversy comes up when people talk about Messi and Ronaldo because lots of people think that one is better than the other.  In this post I will talk about three different that give good input and information on this topic.

Bleacherreport.com has its own take on the Messi vs. Ronaldo controversy.  They say that both party's have there own strengths that are useful.  With Messi and Ronaldo being the two best footballers in the world, bleacherreport.com thinks that Ronaldo takes the cake as the best.  They say that this isn't fair to Messi because of his size but it's true.  Ronaldo can bring more power, is better in the air, and is better in most defensive aspects of the game, along with being able to score an outstanding amount of goals like Messi.  Stated by bleacherreport.com "there is not a whole lot one can do with a 5'7" player on defense other than intercepting passes played on the ground" http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1373932-5-things-that-cristiano-ronaldo-does-better-than-lionel-messi

nesn.com has some good input on what the retired Brazilian football star Abidel Pele thinks about this debate. Pele is known as one of the best footballers to ever have lived and hearing his input now, ven though he is retired, is really cool.  Pele strongly thinks that Messi is better than Ronaldo because of his style of play and because of the character that he is.  From nesn.com Pele states "Messi is the best player in the world and I would have loved to play against him" if you'd like to read more than go here at
http://nesn.com/2012/06/lionel-messi-is-better-than-cristiano-ronaldo-pele-says/

From looking at messivsrinaldo.net I was able to compare stats between Messi and Ronaldo.  In just the past year from stats from earlier in the year, Messi had thirty four goals and eight assists in twenty five games.  These stats come from earlier in the year and exclude country competitions.  From 2009 to 2012 Messi received sixteen big awards while Ronaldo came away with a measly four.  And when we compare the ratings the messivsronaldo.net gave out Messi got  sixty nine out of eighty ability points while Ronaldo got sixty six out of eighty ability points.  These were just ratings that messivsronaldo.net thought were correct but they still show their attributes.  Read more at http://messivsronaldo.net/

Source one and two had different takes on the Mess vs Ronaldo debate but they still had a little bit to say that we're about the same.  bleacherreport.com thought that Ronaldo is better than Messi while nesn.com thought that Messi is better.  But they both say that both party's are really good, and that Messi's height gives him a disadvantage, and that they both have different playing styles. Both cites also have some differences.  bleacherreport.com favored Ronaldo as the best while nesn.com favored Messi as the best.  And their place in the debate in general are different.

On this debate I agree with bleacherreport.com that Messi has a disadvantage because of his height but I'm going to have to go with nesn.com's view because I feel that Mssi is the best in the world because of what he's capable of doing and that he uses his height into the best of an advantage that he can.

F.C Barcelona history

For as long as Messi has played professional soccer, he has always been on F.C Barcelona.  F.C Barcelona have always been a successful team. They are from Barcelona and have always had rich owners which helps them pay for outstanding players like Messi himself.

F.C.B was founded by Hans gambler in 1899.  At that point in time, Spain wasn't the big football country that it is today, so to start the club Gamper used young foreigners that lived in Barcelona.  When F.C.B was young they formed their slogan "more than a club" and as time went by that was turned into a true statement. (http://arxiu.fcbarcelona.cat/web/english/club/historia/introduccio/introduccio.html)

Ever since F.C.B was formed in 1899, they have done outstanding things from were they started to we're they are today along with overcoming great adversities.  Around 1922 football started getting more popular and by that time F.C.B became the best and most popular football club in Spain.  In 1936 president Josep Sunyol was assassinated and this was a big deal for F.C.B because Sunyol propagated the slogan 'sport and citizenship', and with the Spanish civil and post-war period, football in Barcelona almost ended. (http://arxiu.fcbarcelona.cat/web/english/club/historia/introduccio/introduccio.html)

Towards the early 70's F.C.B recovered from their adversity and started to become the football club that every professional wished they were on.  They got some all-star players like Johan Cruyff, and a great club president Josep Luis Nunez.  Working up from the 70's F.C.B couldn't start getting better and more popular, and in the 1990-1994 seasons they were referred to as the dream team.  (http://arxiu.fcbarcelona.cat/web/english/club/historia/introduccio/introduccio.html)

Recently F.C.B has added a lot of new aspects to the team.  In this decade they added a new club president and other staff members and since they are a very rich cub they have the money to buy high class players like Piqué, Iniesta, Valdes, Puyol, and of course Lionel Messi along with many other fantastic players.

F.C.B have always played at camp Nou which is one of the most famous football pitches in the world and is located in Catalonia, which is right outside of Barcelona.  They've won countless awards and cups along with league leaders a number of times.  There's a lot to know about F.C.B and it shows a good part of Messi's history as well.

How to play like Messi

Messi has always been a very high class soccer player, even when he was a little kid.  As a little kid he played in local semi professional kids and he was always able to show off around the other kids that he'd play with.  Now with Messi having to play against really high class teams he still is one of the best players out there and if not then the best.

With Messi being one if the best soccer players in the world it's always nice to know how he plays.  He is a very quick and swift player, he plays with great focus and momentum being able to get past any defender he wants and to score with his wicked shot.

In this post I'll walk through the things that people can do for practicing and getting better and being able to play like Messi.  These are just some simple things that you can do to train yourself to be a better soccer player.

Here is what you need to succeed.  This information is provided from soccer-training-info.com.  First thing to know is to spend time with a ball on a daily basis while weaving in and out of cones or something like imaginary defenders.  While you do this drill and when you preform always focus on touching the ball with each step when you dribble.  If your moving in on a defender then to match Messi's precision you should start moving slow at him to sucker him in then burst past him with speed.  When your in the attacking end and you have a teammate along with you then play two touch soccer instead of forcing the dribble that way you you can put up the assists and goals that Messi gets.  To keep possession with the ball it's always good to shield the ball and as Messi being the small but ferocious beast that he is, never give up on the ball.  (http://www.soccer-training-info.com/how_to_play_like_messi.asp)

This information is very nice to know as a soccer player and especially as a forward and I'd great information that I use for training for myself and also use for performing in games.
